Korea’s MOPAS delegation visits and works in Viet Nam

At the invitation of Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son, a high level delegation of the Korean Ministry of Public Administration and Security (MOPAS), led by Minister Maeng Hyung Kyu, paid a working visit to Viet Nam from November 20-22 on the occasion of celebrating 20 years of Viet Nam- Korea Diplomatic Relations.

The cooperation between two countries in information and communications has gained many good results. The two sides have implemented cooperative programs, such as organizing high-level dialogue, experience exchange, consulting policy making, human resource training and development and promoting business cooperation in the field of information and communications.

Minister Maeng Hyung Kyu’s visit has shown Korean Government’s attention to Vietnam’s ICT development and set up the foundation for strengthening and promoting ICT cooperation for the coming time.

Within the framework of this visit, Minister MOPAS and the delegation attended the opening session of Viet Nam- Korea ICT Conference on 21 November in Hanoi. This is one of the ICT events held on the occasion of the 20th years of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

On the same day, two ministers attended the inauguration ceremony of Internet Access Center at Thai Nguyen University. This large- scale project has been implemented over 30 countries with the aim of narrowing the digital divide, supporting the computerization for community such as IT training, free high speed Internet access, facilities for organizing conferences, seminars etc.  The inauguration of center is a meaningful gift celebrating the 20th anniversary of establishing Vietnam- Korea diplomatic relations.

The two ministers held the talks on the afternoon of  November 21. At the talks, the two sides exchanged the status of two countries’ cooperation over the past years and proposed some activities to further promote cooperative activities for the coming time.
