Russian Federation (RF) is always considered to be a traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and strategic partnership of Viet Nam. Ministry of Information and Communications and RF Ministry of Communications and Mass Media always pay attention to the development of good relationship and cooperation especially in information and communications sector remarking development progress of two countries in general and two ministries in particular in the fields such as: telecommunications, information technology, posts, publication, press and human resource training ect.
Previously, a delegation led by Minister Le Doan Hop visited and worked with Russia Ministry of Communications and Mass Media on September 2009. That was the first official visit of highest leader of Viet Nam MIC to Russia making favorable conditions for leaders of two Ministries to have direct exchange on cooperation situation over the past time and open new cooperation opportunities in accordance with socio- economic development conditions of both sides.
At the meeting, President Nguyen Minh Triet also affirmed relations between two countries is long term cooperation and friendship.
Viet Nam highly appreciate support of Former Soviet Union and Russian Federation and wish further cooperation in various fields such as: culture, politics, economic, society etc, President Triet stressed.
State President Triet also expressed his delight at Russian President’s visit and work to Viet Nam.
On the same day, Mister of MIC Le Doan Hop received and worked with Minister of Communications and Media Mass of RF Igor Shchegolev at the head quarter of MIC. Both sides informed information and communications development situation of two countries and detail exchange on management experience as well as cooperation opportunities in the field of information and communications such as training, network security, press, radio, television and e- government development.
In coming time, both sides will held meeting between ministerial- level delegations aiming at exchanging experience on building industry development policy mechanism and boosting IT application especially software industry, open source software, digital content. Minister Hop proposed to receive support from Russia in establishment of University of Information and Communications.
Both Ministers agreed to encourage and make favorable conditions for Vietnamese and Russian enterprises to have exchanging meeting through organizing exhibition, conference and specialized workshop in order to seeking detail cooperation projects especially in fields such as mobile information, satellite information and IT industry development with RF.
